Onderstaand de tekst uit het artikel:
Boy wears skirt to school in uniform protest

Published: 3:49PM BST 11 Jun 2004
A 15-year-old boy was forced to sit a GCSE exam in isolation after wearing a skirt to school in protest against "sexual discrimination".
Ed Ellson borrowed one of his mother's skirts after becoming irritated by rules governing what uniform boys and girls could wear.
The student told teachers at Ringmer Community College in East Sussex that it was sexist girls that could choose between trousers and skirts, while boys could not.
He was taken to the headteacher, but refused to change clothes.
Ed's mother Alison, who lent him the knee-length black skirt, said he had been made to sit a Maths GCSE exam away from other pupils because it was feared he might distract them.
"I support what he is doing. He has thought about it and is trying to make a point.
"He's been on the internet and looked up the Sexual Discrimination Act, and found what the Government's rules on uniform are."
Ms Ellson, from Lewes, said the school had been angry initially, and had wanted to take further disciplinary action against Ed. However, once his reasons had been explained they became more sympathetic.
"He's started a petition against the (Government's) rules about uniform, and he's got 200 names on it so far."
Als nu meer en meer scholieren dit doen raakt het misschien ook wel gewoon in de mode.
